The Holy Savior Cathedral (in Armenian: Սուրբ Ամենափրկիչ Վանք, Surb Amenaprkich Vank), also known as the Church of the Saintly Sisters and the Vank Cathedral is an Armenian Apostolic church near Isfahan in Central Iran.
Built between 1606 and 1664 by the Christian Armenians brought back as war captives by Abbas I the Great, the Vank (Armenian for Monastery) has a sober exterior, a mix of Muslim and Christian features. The interior, by contrast, is extravagantly rich, every surface decorated in the Armenian style.
Armenian Apostolic is one of the oldest Christian denominations to have survived until today. Armenia was the first kingdom to officially become Christian.
