Maria Łucja Nicz-Borowiakowa

Maria Łucja Nicz-Borowiakowa (1896-1944) was born and died in Warsaw. She was instrumental in promoting Avant-garde Art movements in Poland like the Blok and Praesens groups and the Zdrój review and the Der Sturm magazine.

As a artist, she was one of the founders of Formism, a synthesis of Cubism, Constructionism, Futurism, Expressionism and Folk Art (With Unism the two originally Polish Modern Art expressions).

She was known as the Awangardizsta. See her work at the Museum of Art in Łódź and the National Museum in Poznań].
