Lawrencine “Lorrie” Collins (1942 – 2018) and her younger brother Lawrence “Larry” Collins (1944 –2024) were born in Oklahoma and moved to California when young. They have two sides: A hard-rocking side on records and a more Okie side for TV.

The TV appearances are fun, the Collins are good musicians and showmen, the lyrics are corny yet risque, this is a great Variety show act.

But their Rock and Roll is something else. Their brand is straight-up Appalachia Rockabilly, Hellbilly, Proto Cow Punk, Psychobilly and other names all meaning the same thing, a testament to the originally obscure genre’s many revivals. In other words, it’s always hip. Whistle Bait is raw, wild and sweet.
