A singing phenom since her teenage years, Kuku Sebsebe got her first hit in a duet with Alemayehu Eshete. The album Munaye Munaye and the song Fikreh Beretabegne took her to worldwide fame. They are many albums of Sebsebe on Youtube. Released originally as K7 tapes, the early ones are particularly interesting, adapting modern instruments like the electric guitar and the synthesizer keyboard to the traditional Ethiopian style. The singing is never less than effortlessly stellar.
