One of the first artist in Algeria to embrace Moden Art, M’hamed Issiakhem (1928-1985) Mḥemmed Isyaxem in Kabyle, his native language. At 15, he steals a grenade from American soldiers and accidentally kills two of his sisters and a nephew. He loses an arm. Issiakhem tells of this accident as the fondation of his art.
