Train to Satanville

According to the blog I AM IN THE BAND: Tales of Rock´n´Roll Women:

“Nobody knows who Gin Gillette was. The only information we have is that she only recorded two tracks for Musikon Records of 3456 Floyd Terrace, Los Angeles, CA in 1961.

Some people think she was Robie Lester who together with Cy Irwin is listed as the producer. Irwin just leads back to Gin, but Robie was a successful female singer, actress and in-demand voice-over artist, who did a lot of work for Disney.”

Robie Lester was a star storyteller for Disney as well the voice of Duchess in the Aristocrats and Miss Bianca in The Rescuers and a busy commercial voice actor. She wrote 3 books including Lingerie for Hookers in the Snow: An Autobiography of a Voice Artist

  1. This song was recorded but never released as done by Ralph Gean & Jello Biafra with some Denver locals furnishing a rhythm section & drums. Four other tracks were also recorded, including Little Jimmy Dickens’ “They’re Going to Have Me Committed”, which would have been a good flip side to Train to Satanville.
    Anyway, top tune!
Take care & comb yr hair,
