Daddy Cool

The popular 80’s Pop act Milli Vanilli experienced a vertiginous fall from grace when their fan discovered than the two members of the band never sang a note on their albums and lip-sung through performances. There needn’t be any surprises as producer Frank Farian had done it before (and has done it again since). Farian, a fabulously successful German band maker, hit song writer had formed in 1976 the Disco band Boney M. Of the five members of Boney M, all of Caribbean origin, only two, Marcia Barret and Liz Mitchell, sang on the recordings, Faran doing the lead vocals in place of Bobby Farrel whose talent was in public performance and dancing, skills he had homed in in previous job as a stripper, or so the legend has it.
